Barcrest was found in 1968 in the city called Manchester, England. It initially started with the production of machines for arcades, bingo clubs, and pubs. In a very little span of time, it gradually became the biggest and one of the best manufacturer of fruit machines in the UK. This continuous innovation took place all along the 1980’s.
Across Europe, the fruits of the developers continued to be distributed, and new “MPU’ machines were invented. Even more, features which were ‘skill-based’ started to appear in the arcades. These all were allowed by the motherboard cards. The company had to go through numerous take-overs in the past few years. Until the late 1990’s, offline machines had been the main focus of Barcrest.
